The 17th Century
The 17th century was a time of big changes from the year 1601 to 1700. It was part of what we call the early modern period in Europe.
People loved new art styles, especially the Baroque style. France became very strong under King Louis XIV. He built a huge and beautiful palace called the Palace of Versailles.
This was also a time when scientists made amazing discoveries. They learned about electricity, looked at tiny things with microscopes, and saw faraway stars with telescopes. Famous thinkers like Galileo Galilei and Isaac Newton helped us understand the world better.
Many new places were discovered and settled, especially in the Americas and Asia. Life changed in many parts of the world during this interesting time.
Fun Changes and Discoveries
The 17th century brought lots of new and exciting things:
- New Foods: People in Europe started enjoying ice cream and drinking tea and coffee.
- Science: Scientists saw the moons of Jupiter for the first time and learned how blood moves in our bodies.
- Buildings: Beautiful structures like minarets and the Jamé Mosque of Isfahan were built in Persia.
- Money: Banknotes were introduced in Europe as a new way to pay for things.
It was a time full of wonder and discovery!
