The Argead Dynasty

The Argead dynasty was a royal family from ancient Macedonia. Macedonia is a land that is now part of Greece. The kings of this family were called Argeads because they came from a place called Argos in southern Greece.

The most famous kings were Philip II of Macedon and his son Alexander the Great. They helped make Macedonia very powerful. Under their rule, Macedonia grew to include parts of Egypt and even India!

People remember the Argead dynasty because of these great leaders and their big adventures. They also said they were descendants of a legendary hero named Heracles.

The Argeads started their journey from Argos in the Peloponnese, traveling to Macedonia. Their stories are told by ancient historians, and they are an important part of Greece's history.

The Argead dynasty ruled from about 700 to 310 BC, leaving a lasting mark on the world.
