Asheville is a lovely city in North Carolina. It sits where the French Broad River and the Swannanoa River meet, in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Asheville is the biggest city in western North Carolina and the 11th biggest in the whole state.
A Bit of History
Long ago, the Cherokee Nation lived in the area. European settlers arrived in 1784. The town was named Asheville in 1797. Over the years, Asheville grew with the help of railroads and new neighborhoods.

Asheville is famous for its natural beauty. People love to visit the Biltmore Estate, one of the biggest private homes in the United States.
