Welcome to Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville is a lovely city in North Carolina. It sits where the French Broad River and the Swannanoa River meet, in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Asheville is the biggest city in western North Carolina and the 11th biggest in the whole state.

A Bit of History

Long ago, the Cherokee Nation lived in the area. European settlers arrived in 1784. The town was named Asheville in 1797. Over the years, Asheville grew with the help of railroads and new neighborhoods.

Asheville is famous for its natural beauty. People love to visit the Biltmore Estate, one of the biggest private homes in the United States. The Blue Ridge Parkway, a scenic drive, starts near Asheville. The city also has many parks and gardens, like the Botanical Gardens at Asheville, perfect for exploring.

Music and Culture

Asheville loves music! The city hosts many festivals and has the Moog Music Headquarters. You can enjoy live music in many places. The city also has theaters and art museums, making it a fun spot for families.

If you like being outside, Asheville is a great place for you. People enjoy whitewater kayaking in the nearby rivers. There are also many trails for hiking and places to play disc golf. The city has soccer clubs for kids and adults, and you can even try inline hockey.
