Baja California Sur

Baja California Sur is a beautiful state in Mexico. It is the last state to join Mexico, becoming official on October 8, 1974. Before that, it was called El Territorio Sur de Baja California.

This state is the least crowded in all of Mexico. It covers a large area and makes up the southern half of the Baja California Peninsula. Baja California Sur is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Gulf of California to the east. It also shares a border with Sonora across the Gulf of California.

People love to visit Baja California Sur for its famous tourist spots like Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. The biggest city and capital is La Paz. La Paz is a lovely place where people can enjoy the ocean and local culture.

The land in Baja California Sur is mostly mountains and coastal plains. It has a dry climate, but some areas get more rain from Pacific storms. The state is home to unique plants like tall cacti and animals such as whales, seals, and sea turtles. Many people visit to see these wonderful creatures and explore beautiful natural parks.
