Bengal

Bengal is a big area in South Asia. It is split between Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. Long ago, Bengal was an important kingdom called Vanga.

Bengal has given us many important things. The Bengali calendar started a long time ago. Powerful empires like the Pala and Sena ruled there. Later, Bengal became part of the Mughal Empire and grew very rich.

Bengali culture is famous for its stories, music, art, and movies. The region has produced many great thinkers and has made important progress in areas like fairness and helping others.

Where Bengal Is

Bengal sits north of the Bay of Bengal. It has flat lands, rich soil, and many rivers. The Ganges-Brahmaputra delta makes the land very fertile. You can find high hills in the north and northeast, and the big Sundarbans mangrove forest in the south.

Life in Bengal

Today, Bengal is home to many people. Dhaka in Bangladesh and Kolkata in India are two big, busy cities. People in Bengal mainly speak the Bengali language, which has its own special letters and sounds.

Nature and Animals

The land of Bengal is full of life. You can see many fruits like mangoes and jackfruits, and crops like rice and sugarcane. The Sundarbans is the world's largest mangrove forest and home to the royal Bengal tiger. Rivers and wetlands are full of fish and plants.

Working Together

Bangladesh and India work together in many ways. They trade with each other and share culture and ideas. Both countries help each other and try to solve problems together.

Bengal is a place with a long history, rich culture, and beautiful nature. It is an important part of South Asia and home to many wonderful people.
