Welcome to Bhutan!

Bhutan is a tiny, beautiful country nestled in the Eastern Himalayas. It is landlocked, meaning it is surrounded by other countries on all sides. Bhutan shares borders with China to the north and India to the south. This peaceful land has tall mountains, deep valleys, and rich forests.

A Special Land

Bhutan is led by a King, who is very important to the people. The King works together with a prime minister to help the country. Bhutan is known for its calm ways and tries to keep things peaceful. The capital city, Thimphu, is where many people live and work. It has beautiful buildings and busy streets.

Nature and Animals

The land of Bhutan changes a lot! In the south, it is warm with green forests. In the north, it is very cold with high mountains. One of the tallest mountains is Gangkhar Puensum. Bhutan is also home to special animals like the rare takin, a big, fluffy creature that looks like a cross between a goat and a cow.

Fun Traditions

People in Bhutan love their traditions. They wear special clothes, with men wearing a robe called a gho and women wearing a dress called a kira. Festivals are full of colorful dances, music, and joy. One popular sport is archery, where people shoot arrows at a target. Bhutan’s culture is strong and loved by all, keeping old customs alive in a changing world.
