Bodrum

Bodrum is a sunny and lively town in Turkey. It is found in Muğla Province near the Gulf of Gökova. Long ago, the town was called Halicarnassus and was very important.
One of the amazing wonders of the ancient world, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, once stood here. This grand tomb was built for Mausolus, a ruler, by his wife Artemisia. Today, you can still see parts of the old ruins.
The town has beautiful beaches and many visitors come here for fun and sun. In the past, people mainly worked by fishing and sponge diving. Now, many people work in shops and helping tourists.
Bodrum has a warm Mediterranean climate. The winters are mild and the summers are very hot and sunny. You can see many white buildings with blue details, which help keep the town cool.
One of the main sights is the Castle of St. Peter, also called Bodrum Castle. It was built by knights a long time ago and now holds a museum with underwater treasures. The castle shows beautiful old styles of building.
Bodrum is also home to the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology. This museum shows old shipwrecks from the Aegean Sea. Visitors can see many interesting things from the past.
The town has many places to visit, including old ruins and beautiful spots by the sea. Bodrum is a friendly place with a rich history and lovely weather.
