Welcome to Cary, North Carolina

Cary is a friendly town in the state of North Carolina. It is part of a bigger area called the Raleigh-Cary, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. People love living in Cary because it is safe, comfortable, and has many places to learn and play.

A Town With a History

Cary started as a small place near a railroad. In 1907, Cary High School opened, making it a good place for learning. Later, big companies moved in, especially after Research Triangle Park was built nearby. Today, Cary is home to technology companies like SAS Institute.

Fun Places and Events

Cary has many parks and fun events. You can visit places like Bond Park for art shows or enjoy festivals like the Cary Band Day, Diwali, and the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival. The town also has beautiful old buildings and modern green buildings.

Sports and Recreation

Cary is home to two soccer teams: the North Carolina Courage and the North Carolina FC. They play at WakeMed Soccer Park. The town also has many parks, like Fred G. Bond Metro Park and Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve, where you can play and explore.

Learning and Growing

Cary has many schools, including five public high schools: Cary High School, Green Hope High School, Green Level High School, Middle Creek High School, and Panther Creek High School. There are also middle schools and elementary schools, as well as private schools like Cary Academy.

Getting Around

Cary has buses called GoCary to help people get around. There are also special buses for older adults and people with disabilities. The town is connected by major roads like Interstate 40 and has many bike paths and walking trails. The nearest big airport is Raleigh–Durham International Airport.

Cary is a wonderful place to live and visit, with lots to see and do!
