Research Triangle Park

Research Triangle Park, or RTP, is a very big place for science and technology. It is in North Carolina and covers 7,000 acres of pine forest. Many companies and thousands of workers are there.

The park is special because it is near three famous universities: North Carolina State University, Duke University, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. These schools help create new ideas and inventions.

RTP is surrounded by the cities of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, along with the towns of Morrisville and Cary. Big roads like Interstate 40 make it easy to get around.

Many important companies have offices in RTP, such as IBM, GlaxoSmithKline, and Cisco Systems. The National Institutes of Health also has a research center there.

RTP began in 1959 and has grown into one of the largest research parks in the United States. It helps new technology and science companies grow and succeed.
