Chișinău

Chișinău is the capital city of Moldova. It is the biggest city in the country and has many people living there. Over 567,000 people call Chișinău home, and even more live close by.

The city is near the river Bîc, which flows into the Dniester. Chișinău is a busy place with lots of jobs and trade. It is famous for its wonderful wine, and every October, people celebrate a big wine festival.

Chișinău has many interesting buildings and places to see. Some buildings have special designs, like ones made in Socialist realism and Brutalist styles. There are also lovely old churches and a train station with a Russian style. Famous architect Alexander Bernardazzi designed important spots, such as Chișinău City Hall and two churches.

The city has places for learning and culture, like the National Museum of Fine Arts, Moldova State University, and the National Museum of History of Moldova. Visitors can explore busy markets and even the house where the poet Alexander Pushkin once stayed.

Chișinău is a lively city with much to offer. It is a place where history and modern life come together, making it a special part of Moldova.
