Christian Art

Christian art is special art made about Christianity. It shows pictures and stories from the Bible. People have made this art for a very long time.

One of the most common things to see in Christian art is Jesus. Artists also paint scenes from his life, like his birth and resurrection. Sometimes they show stories from the Old Testament, too.

Different groups of Christians make art in their own ways. For example, Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Evangelical Lutheranism often show the Virgin Mary and saints in their art. Other groups, like Reformed Christianity, use fewer of these pictures.

Christian art looks different all over the world. In Greece, you might see beautiful wall paintings called mosaics. In Europe, churches have colorful stained glass windows that tell Bible stories.

People make Christian art to help them remember important stories and teachings. It can be very beautiful and makes people feel closer to their faith.
