The East Coast of the United States
The East Coast of the United States is where the land meets the Atlantic Ocean. It is a very important part of the country. Many big cities, beautiful beaches, and special places are here.
The East Coast has many states. Some of these states are Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Virginia. Other places like Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. are also part of this area.
The East Coast has a mix of different cultures. Many people from Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America live here. For example, southern Florida has many Latin influences. The islands near Georgia and South Carolina have a special Gullah culture.
Big cities like New York City are very important for business and finance. Washington, D.C. is the nation’s capital, where important decisions are made. Miami is a popular place to visit because of its warm weather and busy port.
The East Coast is also known for its transportation. The main road is Interstate 95. You can travel by water using the Intracoastal Waterway. Trains like the Downeaster and Northeast Regional are popular. Big airports like John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City help people travel easily.
The East Coast is a wonderful place with many different people, places, and things to do. It helps the United States grow and stay strong.
