Isis
Isis was a beloved goddess in ancient Egyptian religion. She was first talked about a long time ago, during the Old Kingdom. People loved her story with her brother and husband, Osiris, and their son, Horus. Isis was seen as a caring mother who helped keep people safe, especially children. Many thought she could heal the sick and protect the innocent.
Isis was also believed to help people after they passed away, guiding them to a peaceful place called the afterlife. People built many beautiful temples for her, with one very important temple at Philae. Her picture often showed her as a kind woman wearing special crowns, like one with a sun disk between the horns of a cow.
Isis’s story and kind ways made her very popular, not just in Egypt, but also in faraway places like Greece and Rome. Even today, people remember Isis as a symbol of nature, wisdom, and the strength of women. She appears in books, art, and many modern stories.
