Fra' Luca Pacioli, a famous mathematician, is shown in this historical painting working with geometric shapes and mathematical tools.

Luca Pacioli was a clever man from Italy. He lived a long time ago, from about 1447 to 1517. People remember him for helping businesses keep track of their money.

Pacioli was born in a town called Sansepolcro in Tuscany. He learned many useful skills and later moved to Venice. There, he taught boys and studied more.

One of Pacioli’s big ideas was a special way to write down money and deals. This method is called the double-entry accounting system. It made it easier for shops and companies to know how much money they had. Because of this, Pacioli is called the “father of accounting.”

Pacioli also worked with the very famous artist Leonardo da Vinci. They spent time together in Milan. Pacioli wrote many books about mathematics, and some of them had fun puzzles and tricks. His work helped people understand numbers and shapes better.

Because of his smart ideas, Pacioli is still remembered today for making business easier and clearer for everyone.
