Lynx

Lynx are beautiful wild cats that live in forests. There are four types of lynx: the Canada lynx, Iberian lynx, Eurasian lynx, and the bobcat. They are special because of their pretty looks and their role in keeping nature balanced.

Lynx have short tails, black hair tufts on their ears, big paws for walking on snow, and long whiskers on their faces. Under their necks, they have a ruff with black bars that look like a bow tie. Their fur can be brown, golden, or white, sometimes with dark spots.

Lynx live in forests in North America, Europe, and Asia. The Eurasian lynx is the largest and lives across Europe and Asia. The Canada lynx lives in Canada, Alaska, and some parts of the United States. The Iberian lynx is found only on the Iberian Peninsula and is very rare. The bobcat is common in the continental United States and parts of Canada and Mexico.

Lynx are good hunters and help keep nature balanced. They eat animals like snowshoe hares, squirrels, and birds. Lynx mothers have kittens once a year, and the kittens stay with their mother for about nine months.
