Ma'an Governorate

Ma'an Governorate is one of the areas in Jordan. It is the biggest area in the whole country! It is found to the south of Amman, the capital city. The largest city here is called Ma'an.

People have lived in this place for a very long time. Long ago, important groups like the Nabateans built amazing places such as Petra. Today, Ma'an Governorate has wide deserts and tall mountains.

It shares borders with Saudi Arabia to the east and south. The weather can be dry, like a desert, but some parts get more rain and are greener.

Many visitors come to see the beautiful landscapes and learn about the history in this special part of Jordan.
