The Malays are a big group of people who live in parts of Southeast Asia. They are mainly found in places like the Malay Peninsula, eastern Sumatra, coastal Borneo, and small islands nearby. Today, these areas are part of countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, and Myanmar.

The Malays have a rich history. Long ago, their ancestors formed trading states and kingdoms. One of the most important times for them was during the Malacca Sultanate in the 1400s. This time helped spread their language, traditions, and religion across the region.

Malay people love their language, which is spoken by many as a first or second language in places like Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and Singapore. They also have beautiful traditions, like special clothes and dances. Many Malays celebrate holidays like Hari Raya, which are happy times for families.

Malays live in many places, and each group has its own special ways. From Brunei to Thailand, they share a common heritage but also have unique customs. Their history is filled with stories of trading, kingdoms, and rich culture that continue to this day.
