Who Was Muhammad?
Muhammad was a very special person in Islam. Muslims believe he was the last prophet sent by God. He shared important messages that became the Quran, Islam’s holy book.
Muhammad was born around 570 CE in Mecca, a city in the Arabian Peninsula. As a young boy, he lost his parents and was raised by his grandfather and later his uncle. When he was 25, he married a kind woman named Khadijah.
When Muhammad was 40, he began to receive messages from the angel Gabriel. These messages taught people about the oneness of God and how to live good lives. He shared these messages with his family and friends.
Life in Medina
Some leaders in Mecca did not like Muhammad’s messages, so he and his followers moved to Medina. This move is called the Hijrah. In Medina, Muhammad helped build a peaceful community and taught people to live together fairly.
Muhammad’s Legacy
Muhammad is remembered as a kind, honest, and wise leader. Muslims try to follow his good example every day. They call his teachings the Sunnah. Even though he passed away in 632 CE, his messages continue to guide many people around the world.
Muslims respect Muhammad very much. When they speak his name, they often add “Peace be upon him.” They believe he showed the best way to live and taught love and kindness to everyone.
