The Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art (or MoMA) is a special place where people can see amazing art. It is in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. You can find it on 53rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

MoMA has lots of art pieces from many years ago until today. There are over 200,000 artworks! These include paintings, sculptures, photos, movies, and more. You can see art from many countries and different times.

MoMA started in 1929. Three kind women began it: Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, Lillie P. Bliss, and Mary Quinn Sullivan. First, it was in a smaller building, but later it moved to its big spot on West 53rd Street. Many famous people help take care of the art there.

People love to visit MoMA. In recent years, millions of visitors from all over the world have walked through its doors to see wonderful artworks. Some famous pieces you might see are by Vincent van Gogh with his painting The Starry Night, and Pablo Picasso with Les Demoiselles d'Avignon.

MoMA also has a big library with many books about art. It helps people learn more about artists and their works. The museum works hard to share art with everyone and make sure everyone can enjoy it.
