What Does It Mean to Be Overweight?
Being overweight means having a little more body fat than is usually healthy. Our bodies need some fat to stay strong and work well, but too much fat can make it harder to move and feel our best.
Doctors use something called body mass index (BMI) to see if someone might be overweight. If a person's BMI is between 25 and 30, they are considered overweight.
Why It Matters
Many people today live in places where there is lots of food and not much need to move around a lot. This can sometimes lead to being overweight. But remember, everyone’s body is special, and people who support body positivity help everyone feel good about themselves.
Staying Healthy
To feel better and stay healthy, people are often encouraged to eat balanced meals and do regular exercise. This helps keep bodies strong and happy. Sometimes, talking to a doctor or joining a support group can also be very helpful.
