Pentecostalism
Pentecostalism is a special kind of Protestant Christianity. It focuses on feeling God very close through something called the Holy Spirit. This idea comes from a Bible story about Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit visited followers of Jesus Christ.
People who follow Pentecostalism believe strongly in the Bible. They think it is very important to believe in Jesus and turn away from mistakes. One big belief is being “born again,” which means starting a new life with God.
Worship in Pentecostal churches is full of energy. People sing, pray, and read the Bible together. Sometimes they pray in a special way called speaking in tongues. They also have important ceremonies like water baptism and Holy Communion.
Pentecostalism is growing very fast, especially in places like Sub-Saharan Africa, the Americas, and Asia. Many people around the world now identify as Pentecostal. Experts think it is one of the fastest-growing religious movement in the world.
Pentecostal churches are found all over the world. Some of the biggest groups include the Assemblies of God, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and the Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea. These churches bring people together to share their faith and support each other.
