What is Protestantism?
Protestantism is a part of Christianity. It started a long time ago when some people wanted to change the way the Catholic Church worked. They believed that people could talk directly to God and that the Bible was the most important book to learn about God.
Where Did It Begin?
The story of Protestantism began in the year 1517 in a place called Wittenberg, which is in Germany. A man named Martin Luther shared his ideas about how the Church could change. He was worried about some things the Church was doing and wanted to make things better.
Why Do People Know About It?
Protestantism became very important because it changed how many people practiced their faith. It spread all over Europe and later to other parts of the world. Today, there are many different groups within Protestantism, like Lutherans, Baptists, and Methodists. Each group has its own special ways of worship and beliefs, but they all share the idea that the Bible is very important.
