São Paulo State

São Paulo is one of the 26 states in Brazil. It is located in the Southeast Region. The state is bigger than the whole country of the United Kingdom. It has many neighbors, like Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, and Mato Grosso do Sul, as well as the Atlantic Ocean.

People and Culture

São Paulo is the most crowded state in Brazil. People there come from many places around the world, including Portugal, Italy, Japan, and many others. The capital city, also called São Paulo, is one of the biggest cities in the world, with over 20 million people living nearby.

The state is known for its schools and universities. Some of the best places to learn are in São Paulo, like the University of São Paulo and the University of Campinas. People in São Paulo enjoy many festivals, music, and art.

Nature and Farms

São Paulo has beautiful nature. You can find forests, mountains, and beaches. The state grows lots of food, like orange juice, sugar, coffee, and many fruits and vegetables. It is one of the top places in the world for growing oranges.

  • São Paulo has many airports, including São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport, which is very busy and helps people travel around the world.
  • The state has many roads, making it easy to visit different places. Some roads go through beautiful mountains.

  • Every year, there is a fun race called the São Silvestre Race on New Year's Eve. Many people run together to celebrate.
