St Albans

St Albans is a lovely city in Hertfordshire, England. It is found east of Hemel Hempstead and west of Hatfield, not far from London.
People have lived in St Albans for a very long time, since the days of the Romans. Back then, it was called Verulamium and was an important place on an old road called Watling Street.
The city is named after a kind man named Alban. He lived a long time ago and helped someone who was in trouble. Because of this brave act, Alban is remembered as the first British saint.
St Albans is a beautiful place to visit. You can see old walls and buildings from Roman times. There are also lovely parks and places to learn about history, like the Verulamium Museum and the St Albans Museum + Gallery. The city has a special church called a cathedral, which makes St Albans a cathedral city.
Many people enjoy living in St Albans because it has a mix of old and new. It is close to big roads and has train stations that make it easy to visit London or other nearby towns.
