Hemel Hempstead is a friendly town in Hertfordshire, England. It is about 24 miles northwest of London. The town is close to other places like Watford, St Albans, and Berkhamsted.

Hemel Hempstead has a long history, going back to the 8th century. In 1539, it received special rights from Henry VIII. After World War II, the town grew a lot as a new place for people to live.

The town is known for its special "Magic Roundabout," where six roads meet in a circle. Hemel Hempstead also has beautiful gardens and water areas called the Watergardens. You can see ducks and enjoy walking there.

Near Hemel Hempstead, you can visit farms and woods in the Chiltern Hills. Small villages and towns like Berkhamsted and Watford are close by, making it easy to explore.
