University College London
University College London, or UCL, is a big school for learning in London, England. It is part of the University of London. Many students from all over the world come here to study.
UCL started in 1826. It was special because it welcome everyone, no matter where they came from or what they believed. It was also one of the first schools in the United Kingdom to let women and men study together. Now, UCL has many different places to learn and work.
The main home of UCL is in Bloomsbury, in the central London area. There are old and important buildings where students can read books and learn about many things. UCL also has museums, like the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology and the Grant Museum of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy, where you can see interesting objects from the past.
UCL is known for its learning and discoveries. Many clever people have studied or worked there. The school has many different subjects, from art to science, and helps students learn and grow. UCL is part of special groups like the Russell Group and the League of European Research Universities. It is a place where new ideas are born and important work is done.
