Italy joined the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Many athletes from around the world met to compete in many sports. Italy sent 361 athletes, including 246 men and 115 women. They took part in 175 events across 29 sports, aiming to win medals.

Archery

The men's archery team from Italy did very well in the 2000 Olympics. They beat the United States team in the semifinal, which meant they would win at least a silver medal. But the team from Korea won against them in the final, so Italy did not win the gold medal.

Football
