Aosta

Aosta is a lovely city in the Alps of Italy. It is the capital of a special area called the Aosta Valley. This pretty place is about 110 km north of Turin.

Aosta is very close to two big tunnels. These are the Mont Blanc Tunnel and the Great St Bernard Tunnel. The tunnels help people travel between Italy and France. The city is where two rivers, the Buthier and Dora Baltea, come together.

Long ago, Aosta was an important place for a group of people called the Salassi. The Romans built a town there for soldiers. Many old walls and buildings from that time can still be seen today. Visitors enjoy looking at the old towers, gates, and the Arch of Augustus.

Aosta has a cool climate with warm summers and cold winters. The city has many friendly people from different places, including Morocco, Romania, and Albania. It is a wonderful spot to explore history and nature.
