Where They Live

The Central European red deer is a special kind of deer that lives in central Europe. You can find them in many beautiful places like France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Denmark. They also live in the western Carpathians.

Faraway Homes

People have taken these deer to live in faraway lands too! Now you can find them in New Zealand, Australia, Chile, and Argentina. They help keep nature balanced in these new homes.

What They Look Like

These deer have light-colored fur with a lighter patch on their rump that has a black border. They look different from other deer types like the smaller Spanish red deer, the Norwegian red deer, and the Mesola red deer.
