Liège is a lovely city in Belgium. It sits in a place called Wallonia, near the rivers Meuse and Ourthe. Think of it as a cozy spot where water flows and people live happily.

Liège is special because it has a long history. People have lived here for many years, and it became an important place for learning and religion a long time ago. Today, it is a busy city with many things to see and do.

The city has many friends around the world. It is twinned with places like Nancy in France, Cologne in Germany, and Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg. These friendships help people from different places learn about each other.

Liège is also known for its festivals and markets. Every year, people gather for fun celebrations, like the "Le Quinze Août" festival in honor of the Virgin Mary. There are also big markets where you can find fresh food and enjoy local traditions.

The city loves sports, too! Standard Liège is a famous football team, and every spring, Liège hosts a big cycling race called Liège–Bastogne–Liège. It’s a place where everyone can find something fun to do!
