The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a big school where students can learn many things. It is in a pretty town called Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the United States. People have been learning here since 1789, which makes it one of the oldest schools in the country.
UNC Chapel Hill has lots of places for students to study. There are more than 240 different subjects to choose from! Students can learn about science, art, business, and more. The school is very good at research and has special buildings like the Morehead Planetarium for looking at stars and space.
The school’s sports teams are called the Tar Heels. They play many games and have won lots of prizes. Basketball is very popular, and the team has won several big championships. Students love to cheer for their teams and have fun together. The school is part of a group called the Research Triangle with two other schools: North Carolina State University in Raleigh and Duke University in Durham.
Many famous people went to UNC Chapel Hill. Some of them became leaders, like a past president of the United States. Others became famous in sports, like basketball star Michael Jordan. The school has many places to explore, like old buildings, gardens, and special spots where students like to meet and celebrate.
