North Carolina State University
North Carolina State University, often called NC State, is a big school in Raleigh, North Carolina. It started in 1887 as a place to learn about farming and machines. Today, it is the largest school in the Carolinas and part of the University of North Carolina system.
Students at NC State can study many things, like science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and agriculture. The school is known for its research and is one of the top schools in the United States for research. It is one of three main schools in the Research Triangle, along with Duke University in Durham and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The school has a beautiful red-brick campus with a famous bell tower called the Memorial Belltower. There is also a big area called Centennial Campus where students, scientists, and businesses work together. Almost 40,000 students go to NC State.
NC State's sports teams are called the Wolfpack. They play in NCAA Division I and the Atlantic Coast Conference. They have won several national championships, including in men's basketball and women's cross-country. Many famous people have graduated from NC State, including leaders in government, business, science, and sports.
