What is a Website?

A website is like a special book that lives on the Internet. It has many pages about one topic, like animals, space, or games. You can read these pages using a device like a laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

How Do Websites Work?

All websites are part of something called the World Wide Web. When you open a web browser on your device, you can visit any website. Each website has its own domain name, like google.com, which helps you find it easily.

Popular Websites

Some of the most visited websites are Google for searching, YouTube for watching videos, and Facebook for connecting with friends. These websites are used by millions of people around the world to learn, play, and share.

Fun Fact

The World Wide Web was created in 1989 by a scientist named Tim Berners-Lee. It became free for everyone to use in 1993, which helped it grow very fast!
