Water polo

Italy joined in both the men's and women's water polo events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The men's team finished in 9th place, and the women's team came in 6th place.

The Italian men's water polo team had a head coach named Paolo Malara. They played many matches in their group stage and later took part in games to decide their final standing.

The Italian women's water polo team was led by head coach Mauro Maugeri. Like the men's team, they also competed in group play and then in matches to decide their final positions. All matches happened in China Standard Time (UTC+8).
