List of national capitals

This is a list of national capitals, including capitals of territories and dependencies, as well as non-sovereign states such as associated states and places where sovereignty is disputed. The capitals on this list are connected to states or territories recognized by the international standard ISO 3166-1, or those found on the list of states with limited recognition.
Sovereign states and observer states that are members of the United Nations are shown in bold text. Knowing these capitals helps us understand where important government decisions are made around the world. Each capital city is usually where a country’s main government buildings and leaders are located.
List
This section shows a list of national capitals. It includes capitals of countries, territories, and areas whose status as a country might be debated. The list follows international standards to make sure all important places are included.
